HIP Housing has given free, long-term support to those who need it most in San Mateo County for 42 years. This is especially important now, as our county has become one of the most expensive areas to live in within the United States. The need for extra income is a common one, and renting out a room in your home is a great way to reduce costs and help your community. NEW: With support from the City of Fremont, HIP Housing’s Home sharing program was launched in Fremont on August 1st. The program will serve persons who have a room to rent who live in Fremont, Newark and Union City and persons who are seeking housing who currently live or work in Fremont. A Frequently Asked Questions flyer about the program is shared at the bottom of this article.

Daly City: Unfurnished bedroom to rent in a 4 BR/3 BA home with three other people. Rent is $850 a month for rent with
$850 deposit. Home is located near public transportation. Home owner does not smoke and will only accept an outside smoker. Owner is looking for someone honest and quiet to share home with. Home overlooks the ocean.
Daly City: Furnished or unfurnished bedroom to rent in a 4 BR/2BA home with one other person. Rent is $1,050 for rent or
$850 for a service exchange to help home provider get the home organized. Home is located near public transportation. Laundry, storage space and street parking are both available. Utilities will be shared with home owner. Home owner does not smoke, but will accept an outside smoker. She doesn’t own pets, but will accept cats. She is looking for someone mature and responsible to share home with.
East Palo Alto: Furnished/unfurnished bedroom available in a 4BR/2.5 BA home. Rent is $1,050 with a $1,250 deposit. Home is located near public transportation. Laundry and off street parking is available. Outside smoking ok. No pets. Home in located on a cul-de-sac. Has living room, backyard, family room and lots of space.

Street parking and kitchen use are both available. Owner does not smoke and will not accept a smoker. They do not own pets and will not accept any pets. Owners are looking for an honest, clean, and respectful housemate to share home with.
Pacifica: Furnished bedroom available in a 5BR/2BA home to share. Rent is $600 a month with a $150 deposit. Home is located near public transportation. Laundry and street parking are both available. Owner does not smoke and will not accept a smoker. They own 3 dogs and one cat but will not accept any more pets.
