Rosa Acosta, a member of the South San Francisco Unified School District Board of Trustees, recently attended the 11the Annual National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials’ Summit on the State of Latino Education in Washington, D.C. On Sept. 18 and 19, along with 65 other Latino leaders and policy-makers from 15 states, she took part in two days of workshops, panels, presentations and in-depth discussions aimed at ensuring that more Latinos complete college. The Association is devoted to creating strategies for furthering the academic success of Latinos throughout the U.S.
