Nicole Wallace, a teacher in the AVID program at El Camino High School, has been named 2015-16 Educator of the Year in Region 4 by the California League of Schools.
Another El Camino teacher, David Yanover, was also a finalist for the Region 4 honor.
Ms. Wallace will be competing with ten other California teachers for the organization’s statewide honor which will be announced in February during a conference in Costa Mesa.
Both Ms. Wallace and Mr. Yanover were praised for their outstanding work at El Camino by South San Francisco Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Shawnterra Moore and by the District Board of Trustees during its meeting Nov. 5.
