South San Francisco, CA February 26, 2016 Submitted by John Horgan, SSFUSD
Dear Parents, Staff, and District Community,
Thank you for your support of our schools, staff, and mostly our students. In times like these, it’s important we come together as a community and work together to do what’s best for our children. Please know that our top priority is the safety and security of our students and staff.
We are pleased to report that the past two days of school have been safe and peaceful. We realize that our notification about the alleged threats to our schools was stressful for our entire community. We felt that making the announcement was in the best interest of safety and transparency even though no direct threat was made or confirmed. We sincerely thank the South San Francisco Police Department for their support and presence throughout the District.
Please be advised that our schools will continue to be open as regularly scheduled on Monday. School staff and police will continue to be vigilant of any suspicious activity.
We look forward to seeing your children in school on Monday. Please know that we will continue to be vigilant as we strive to keep everyone safe and secure.
Dr. Shawnterra Moore
Superintendent
South San Francisco Unified School District
