South San Francisco, CA March 10, 2016 Submitted by John Horgan, SSFUSD
Enrollment in the South San Francisco Unified School District is expected to continue to decline over the next several years. According to an analysis provided by the District’s Business Office and provided to the District Board of Trustees March 10, full-time student numbers are projected to drop from 8,725 this year to 8,382 in 2017-18. District Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Michael Krause said the reasons for the enrollment slump are unknown. He speculated that, perhaps, the high cost of housing in the area could be one factor.
