South San Francisco, CA   April 15, 2016 Submitted by Lentz for SMC Supervisor CampaignCliffLentzHeadshot

Earlier this week, Mayor Cliff Lentz was presented with the Sierra Club’s sole endorsement for the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, District 5 seat.  The Sierra Club cited Cliff’s “dedication to environmental values” as the organization bestowed the honor.

During his tenure on the Open Space and Ecology Committee, Mayor Lentz helped create Brisbane’s Green Building Ordinance, and with the Council partnered with the CA Coastal Conservancy and US Fish & Wildlife to purchase open space on San Bruno Mountain.

Mayor Lentz is currently working with Brisbane citizens to create a Master Pedestrian, Bicycle and Trail Plan.  He helped write the Sustainability Framework for the large undeveloped Baylands project, which parallels Highway 101 across from the former Candlestick Park.

A strong proponent of efficient public transportation to reduce emissions and traffic, Mayor Lentz is specifically interested in electrifying Caltrain.  As Vice Chair of the Commute.Org Board, he supports increased shuttle availability to promote the connectivity of public transportation with places of employment.

Mayor Lentz is a proud supporter of Measure AA, which would raise necessary funding to restore coastal wetlands and build levees to help protect our homes and businesses from sea level rise.

As a San Mateo County Supervisor, Mayor Lentz would continue to pursue his interests in open space, sustainability and clean air.  He would partner with Supervisor Dave Pine to address climate change, and also pledges to support SMC parks.
