New Opera NYC with support of Congress of Russian Americans and Russian Center of San Francisco presents double bill of Russian operas: new production of Boris Godunov by M.Mussorgsky and Iolanta by P.Tchaikovsky.
Outstanding cast of world renowned singers includes legendary bass of Bolshoi Theater Grammy Award Nominee Mikhail Svetlov. In famous Chaliapin’s tradition Mikhail will perform two bass roles in this new production of Boris Godunov: drunkard Varlaam and Tsar Boris.
Stark production of Iolanta that Opera News Magazine described as “effective production” and ”enjoyable performance” features Russian soprano Julia Lima in the tile role of Iolanta, M.Svetlov will perform the role of King Rene and rising star tenor Viktor Antipenko will take on the role of passioned Vodemon.
