Police Clerk I/II  City of San Bruno   $50,652 – $68,364 a year Filing Deadline: 5pm on Friday, August 26, 2016

It is an exciting time to join the San Bruno Police Department as a Police Clerk. Under direction of the Records and Communications Supervisor, Police Clerks perform clerical functions related to the operation of the Police Department including entering and maintaining records in the new Records Management System (RMS) and providing customer service by phone and in person, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Police Clerks are also responsible for receiving business and emergency calls, preparing confidential documents for submission to Court and the District Attorney, and booking and fingerprinting people arrested for non-violent offenses. Police Clerks may be assigned to day or swing shift on a regular basis that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is integral in supporting the goals and objectives of the City and Police Department.

In addition to these responsibilities, the position of Police Clerk II provides Dispatch services on a relief basis. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Police Clerk I, and upon successful completion of requirements, will be eligible for promotion to Police Clerk II.

JOB TYPES AND DUTIES
Eligible high school students can apply to one of five types of WORKREATION jobs that they are interested in. The different types of jobs include:

1) Office Assistant: Apply for a job working in Recreation and Parks offices with our department’s administrative staff. Learn how the different parts of the department are run and help out with administrative tasks in our Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Support Services, and other units. Work hours are from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM on weekdays.

2) After School Leader: Do you enjoy working with kids? Apply to work in one of Recreation and Parks afterschool programs in one of our Recreation Centers or neighborhood parks. Help with after school recreation activities including sports, arts & crafts, cooking, field trips, and special events. Work hours are from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM on weekdays.

3) Facility Assistant: Apply for a job in one of Recreation and Parks many Recreation Centers or Playgrounds. Working in one of our facilities, you will be responsible for facility preparation including set up and/or breakdown for events, facility monitoring, interacting with the public at the front desk, and maintaining the facility’s public displays. Work hours vary.

4) Aquatics Assistant: Do you enjoy time at the pool? Apply to work in one of Recreation and Parks different pools and assist our Senior Swimming Instructors and Life Guards. Lifeguarding experience is required. Work hours vary.

5) Green Assistant: Enjoy working in the outdoors? Apply for a job assisting our gardeners in keeping our parks clean and beautiful including planting and weeding. Work hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturdays only.
