South San Francisco, CA November 16, 2016
The South San Francisco Police and Fire Departments have partnered with the YMCA for this year’s 2016 Holiday Food & Toy Distribution. For those who would who benefit from this outreach, the registration deadline is Friday November 18th. More information can be found HERE.
For those who are interested in helping our neighbors through this program, we share this information from SSFPD Corporal Jason Pfarr. He is the point person for this effort and can be reached HERE if there are questions and to register for the following opportunities on this endeavor.
“For those wanting to help with this year’s Holiday Food & Toy Distribution we could use donations of unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items. These items can be dropped off at any SSF Police or Fire Station.
If people would like to donate money, a check made out to the City of a South San Francisco with a memo of Holiday Food and Toy Drive can be mailed to City of SSF PO Box 711, SSF, CA 94080, or dropped off at City Hall.
We also are seeking volunteers to help the sorting on November 21 from 8:00am-5:00pm and distribution of food on November 22nd from 8:00am-5:00pm. This would be at the former FORD building on the 300 block of Airport Bl. at Miller Avenue. The shifts are two hours in length.
In addition, we could also use volunteers to help sort food and toys on December 21 at Fire Station 61 on N. Canal from 8:00am-5:00pm. During the same time we will be sorting food at the former FORD building. We also could use people to help distribute food and toys on December 22nd, again from the former Ford building from 8:00am to 5:00 pm.
There are multiple ways neighbors can help neighbors and I look forward to signing up volunteers for this year’s program. I can be reached by email HERE or a phone message can be left at 829.7233 and I will return the call when available.”
