South San Francisco, CA December 12, 2016
In an effort to improve safety along the El Camino Real corridor in South San Francisco, Caltrans is changing the speed limit from 40 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour, planned for sometime mid to late December.
A traffic study was conducted in the fall and after evaluating the vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian activities, and the complete street features with various enhancements, it was recommended the speed limit be lowered to better fit the developments along this segment of the El Camino Real corridor.

Maybe it would also help if the SSF PD would start ticketing people that cross or jay walk in on El Camino at random places instead of using the designated crosswalks .
