On Monday evening South San Francisco Fire and Police personnel responded to the 100 block of Rockwood Drive on the report of a solo vehicle collision into a residence. Investigation revealed that 42-year-old South San Francisco resident Yuri Escobar was driving under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of his scooter and collided into a residence. The passenger riding on the back of the scooter sustained non-life threatening injuries during the collision and was transported to a local trauma hospital where she was admitted for treatment. Escobar was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for felony DUI.
