SSFUSD Outreach in Response to Sunshine Gardens Power Outage September 11

South San Francisco, CA   September 12, 2017

The evening of September 11th brought a tremendous thunderstorm throughout our region knocking out power in several locations including that which serves Sunshine Gardens Elementary School. We received multiple inquires from parents and neighbors regarding the condition of the schools which prompted us to get more information from the District.  We appreciate the immediate response from South San Francisco Unified School District Director of Student Services and Public Information Officer Ryan Sebers who provided us with some answers to our questions to share with our community and further directing us to the District website which held more info as posted below:

FROM THE DISTRICT WEBSITE:

Sunshine Gardens Power Outtage

September 12, 2017

Dear Sunshine Gardens parent and staff community,

We are currently experiencing a power outage at Sunshine Gardens Elementary School due to a fallen power pole in the neighborhood. PG&E estimates the issue to be repaired by this evening, and will continue to work throughout the day to restore power as soon as possible.

School will continue to be in session and is open for instruction as regularly scheduled. We will make adjustments as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

Should any additional information come to our attention warranting changes to the schedule and operation of the school, we will be sure to notify you as soon as we are able.

Thank you for your patience, and understanding,

Dr. Shawnterra Moore

Superintendent
