South San Francisco, CA October 3, 2018
South San Francisco residents have been happily surprised at the latest additions at our bus stations. “I’m loving these new benches” Sabrina wrote “Who put them there?”
South City resident Sonny Koya sits on the SamTrans Advisory board and provided this photo and let us know this was something new coming from SamTrans. “These new amenities provided should be more durable and more closely match the look of our shelters.” concured Dan Lieberman, spokesperson for SamTrans.
This latest update is due to funds from Prop 1B’s Public Transportation Modernization, Improvement, and Service Enhancement Account Program (or PTMISEA for short). “We are using approximately $125k from these funds to fix up benches and trash cans at bus stops throughout the county, including Daly City, East Palo Alto, Pacifica, Redwood City, San Bruno and San Mateo in addition to South San Francisco.” Lieberman said.
The roll out of these new amenities through out the county should be completed by the end of the month.
