South San Francisco, CA December 20, 2018 Submitted by Sheri Boles, City of South San Francisco
With 2019 just around the corner, please consider making a lifesaving New Year’s resolution by donating blood! The City’s New Year’s Blood Drive, in partnership with South City’s own Vanessa Morales, is Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Municipal Services Building, Council Chambers, 33 Arroyo Drive.
All donors will receive a free American Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt!
Making an appointment is easy! Just visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code, “SSF” or call 1.800.RED.CROSS.
As backgrounder, Vanessa is a 12-year-old South San Francisco resident, who is in 6th grade. At age 7, she was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, a blood disease that requires regular blood transfusions. Thanks to donors like you, today Vanessa is healthy — and has been in remission for more than two years! Vanessa, who wants to help get the word out about the importance of blood donation, is once again teaming with our City. This marks her third blood drive with us!
Please contact Sheri Boles, Community Programs Manager, at sheri.boles@ssf.net or 650.829.6680 with any questions.
Thank you for making an appointment and marking your calendars. I hope to see you on Jan. 2nd!
