San Mateo, CA: With the annual Memorial Day holiday complete, all eyes are focused on the community’s annual celebration, the San Mateo County Fair.
Kangaroos will be hopping. Disco fans will be donning headphones. Friends will be snapping selfies. Glass art will be created from fire. Roaming percussionists will be drumming on trash cans. Pigs will be racing. Chinese acrobats will be balancing. Butterflies will be flittering. Drones will be flying. Cows will be mooing. Rides will be twirling. And, food for every palate will be frying. While the grand opening day of the San Mateo County Fair is less than two weeks away, another important day is Friday, June 7, the day before the fair opens. June 7 is the deadline to benefit from big savings on discounted admission and discounted unlimited rides.
“Fairgoers are encouraged to take advantage of the buy-in-advance savings, but time is running out,” said Dana Stoehr, chief executive officer of the San Mateo County Event Center and Fair. Discounted tickets can be purchased online at sanmateocountyfair.com or in person at the San Mateo County Event Center, 2495 S. Delaware (weekday business hours) now through June 7. The 2019 San Mateo County Fair opens for its annual 9-day run on Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m.
