98° and Dia de la Feria concerts slated for final weekend
The temperature will not soar above the 90s but the music will be 98° on closing weekend of the San Mateo County Fair.
Boy band fans get ready because 98° takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the San Mateo County Fair. “I’ll admit that I’m one of the many looking forward to seeing Nick and Drew Lachey on stage,” said Dana Stoehr, chief executive officer of the San Mateo County Event Center and Fair. “It’s going to be a really fun concert.”
While reserved seats for the 98° concert are sold out, 1,500 free seats in Fiesta Hall are available on an open-seating, space-available basis. In addition, the concert will be simulcast on a jumbo screen at the outdoor Blue Moon Blues, Brews and Beachballs Stage.
Also planned for closing weekend, Father’s Day, is Dia de la Feria. This year’s lineup features:
Los Dinnos (2:00 to 3:00 p.m.); Grupo Bryndis (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.); Liberación (5:00 to 6:00 p.m.); Rocio y Su Sonora (4:00 to 5:00 p.m.); and Alacranes Musical (5:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
“Our fair’s new attractions have been very popular,” said Stoehr. All of the new attractions will be open throughout the weekend including the Selfie Museum, sponsored by the San Francisco Chronicle, Aussie Kingdom, an Australian animal exhibit, and the Radio.com Silent Disco
