Free Health Screenings Offered at Festival’s Health Pavilion
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 31, 2019 – Kaiser Permanente is once again proud to be a major sponsor of the 2019 annual Pistahan Parade and Festival. The free event is an international celebration of Filipino culture and cuisine taking place this coming weekend.
The two-day event begins with a parade through San Francisco on Saturday and will feature a Kaiser Permanente contingent and float. The parade starts at 11 am at Civic Center Plaza, before continuing along Market Street and ending at Yerba Buena Gardens, where the festival is held.
Kaiser Permanente will host the Health Pavilion at the festival and invites everyone to come and learn how to create a healthy lifestyle. Visitors will be able to get free blood pressure screenings and glucose screenings, as well as get health education information on heart health and stroke prevention, diabetes, and healthy living for adults and children.
Dr. Charito Sico, a pediatrician, and Kaiser Permanente’s Physician Ambassador for the Pistahan event will lead a team of volunteer physicians at the “Talk with a Doc” booth. Festival attendees can stop by and ask general health care questions.
This year’s festival and parade is expected to draw around 80,000 people from throughout the Bay Area.
