South San Francisco, CA March 28, 2020
Realizing the need for our most vulnerable neighbors to remain safe and healthy, South City Grocery Outlet has announced they are now offering a special hour for their shopping convenience.
Starting Monday March 30th, those who are 65 years of age and older, will now be able to shop from 8am-9am daily. In addition, those who have underlying health conditions that put them in the same vulnerable positions as seniors, are also welcomed to shop during that same hour, with hopes this extension is not abused by able bodied shoppers who are welcomed to shop from 9am-7pm daily.
“We hope this reserved shopping hour helps those in our community that are at most risk” said Michelle Radcliffe, owner of South City Grocery Outlet. “And we hope those not at risk respect this dedicated hour.”
The Radcliffe’s have a reputation for dedication to our community, and to their employees as well, which is evident by the recent private hour of shopping . “This is a very cool thing. All of our employees had an hour to shop, on us!” Michelle said last Thursday during a Facebook Live session. “Our employees are our hero’s!” Michelle wrote, echoing what many of us in the communities are thinking. While most everyone else is hunkered at home, we need to remember those who clean, stock, and serve us at the store, are doing so at a personal risk to benefit us all. Please remember this when shopping, and do your part by practicing social distancing, and staying home if you are sick.
South City Grocery Outlet is located in the Hickey Shopping Center, 125 Hickey Blvd, off El Camino Real, and offers free parking.
