The Millbrae Police Bureau has learned that scammers are at it again calling, threatening and attempting to get personal information from our residents. The most recent scam threatens the intended victim with arrest by Millbrae Police Bureau deputies if you don’t give the scammer your info.
NO LEGITIMATE COMPANY OR GOVERNMENT AGENCY WILL EVER CALL YOU DEMANDING YOUR INFO AND THREATENING TO ARREST YOU!
When you get these calls, please simply hang up. Sadly we even get these scam calls on city phones at the Police Bureau sometimes.
We know the scammers are persuasive and it is frightening. Like the person who let us know this was happening, if you have questions, hang up on them and call us! Do not give anyone your Social Security number or credit card information to anyone who calls on the phone. Be safe and diligent.
