Thankful for all of us able to keep our jobs and working from home for the most parts, having Zoom calls with friends on a regular basis to help with our sanity, having access to vaccines, and slowly and safely venturing out there again. I had my first real get together at home over the weekend.

Even though it should be all year around, Thanksgiving is the time when we most often think about what we are grateful for the most. Every year brings triumphs and struggles. Some years seem harder than others. And when there are big worries and issues, it’s hard to remember that life has many things to be grateful.

Sometimes when you want more, you forget to appreciate what you already have. It’s important to look around and acknowledge what you’ve achieved.

Being grateful comes in many ways:
– Having the ability to take care of yourself and family
– People who are there and support you along the way
– Being able to help others
– A kind word or gesture that we receive from others
– Not the quantity of friends, but the quality

One thing that I have always been grateful for is that I hold the trait of being a strong and independent person like my great grandmother, grandmother and mostly my mom.

Although I didn’t have the chance to know my great grandmother, I listened to the stories about her and valued her smart decisions in life. My grandmother and mother took care of their families (mostly by themselves) and taught me to be financially responsible and make the most of what I have to be able to provide for myself and my family.

The older we get the more we realize what is truly important in life. It’s not the material things that surround us, but having good health, quality of life, family and friends. Enjoy the little things. For one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude…. it’s gratitude that brings us happiness. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

I’m grateful for having loving caring people in my life and to be able to carry on family traditions. I’m forever grateful for having a close relationship with my mother. When my mother had just a few hours left to live I asked her to somehow stay in touch with me and she nodded her head. She kept her word because every night she appears in my dreams. She held my hand when I came into the world and I held her hand when she left. I’m grateful for having a mother that gave me life and loved me. Happy Thanksgiving !

I am thankful for my husband of 40+ years and that I am grandma to 4 grandchildren who visit me weekly. I am thankful I am retired and still able to survive in the Bay Area. I am thankful for my sanity which I am able to keep by volunteering and trying to reach 10k steps a day. I am thankful to our local Safeway (Westborough) and Costco which is where I spend time getting my 10k steps a day. I just love to browse at these stores.

I am always thankful for health and family. Furthermore, I am especially thankful for all my love ones that were able to make it through this pandemic. It has been an unprecedented time and with all our friends and family helping, sharing and communicating…we have made it out stronger than before. Lastly, I am thankful we will be having normal holiday festivities for the first time in a while. I cannot wait for the holidays to take over and spread joy throughout everybodies communities!

I am very Thankful for my family, my job, to have a roof over our heads. This upcoming holiday isalways the toughest for my family because 6 years ago we lost my dad unexpectedly and it was the hardest of Holidays in 2015. It still feels like it was yesterday the pain is still their.
I am also very thankful that all my family and loved ones have managed to remain safe and healthy during Covid. I am a healthcare worker and saw 1st hand what covid did and has done to families. I wish nothing but the very best for the remaining year and the following years to come.

I am thankful for the fact that my family and friends are all fully vaccinated and we can gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season. Now, we’ll have to wait and see how the Christmas tree supply will be this year but we’ll turn our attention to that after Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for my daughter, family and friends who have helped me get through the last year. I miss my husband with all my heart. My support family has gotten me through his illness and passing.
As time goes on, I know he is with us all the time and will always watch over us. I pray that everyone who is having a difficult time, finds their support, relies on their angels and builds on their faith.
