South San Francisco, CA June 3, 2022 by Mayor Nagales {Press Release}
This past Wednesday, we kicked off Pride Month by raising the Pride Progress flag, and throughout the month City Hall and our Sign Hill Tree are lit in rainbow colors. LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning) Pride Month occurs in the United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many Pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world. We honor those who stood at the front lines in advocating for equal rights.
