Carmela was proud of her Italian heritage and of being a San Francisco native. She was raised in the North Beach area attending Spring Valley Grammar School, Marina Junior High, and on to Galileo where she was very active in Student Body activities.
She worked 10 years for the Internal Revenue, met her husband, Oddie Hoffmann, settled in South San Francisco, and had two children. When the children finished school, Carmela decided to go back to work and got a job, she truly loved, with the So. San Francisco Unified School District in the High School’s Attendance Office. Twenty years later she retired and added to her already busy social life!!!
She loved being with friends and family and they loved being with her! She greeted everyone with her great big warm smile that made you feel special. She made her house your home, cocktail hours, dinners, football games, holidays, and any other excuse she could find to entertain and feed you. Going to parties, weddings, and reunions with her school friends, which she kept from the day she started school, was especially important to her. She loved to dance, and people loved to dance with her or just watch because she was really, really good! Yes, Carmela was a real “People Person”. She will be missed, but always be remembered because of the warm, caring, and fun person she was!!!!
She leaves behind her loving husband “Oddie” Hoffmann, son Andy Hoffmann, daughter Gina Pellini (Bob) and granddaughter Andrianna Pellini. She was predeceased in passing by “Her Brothers” Vince, Mario, John, and Rocky Lombardi!
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 9:30 AM at Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, SSF. Private committal.
