STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST – Early this morning our graveyard officers were conducting catalytic converter theft suppression patrol in the area of A Street and 1st Street when they observed a suspicious GMC Sierra pickup truck driving in the area. A records check of the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen to the Hayward Police Department earlier this month. A high-risk stop on the vehicle was conducted and the 21-year-old male driver from Daly City surrendered to a Police K-9. The driver was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Great proactive police work graveyard!

Commercial Burglary / Resisting Arrest – Last night a witness reported a subject breaking the front glass door of a business on the 300 block of Grand Avenue. Our Officers arrived within a minute of being dispatched; however, the suspect had already fled on foot. While officers were on scene, several people flagged down officers to advise they observed a subject looking into vehicles nearby.
Officers located a 38-year-old unhoused male from Reno and Sacramento on the 200 block of Baden Avenue. He immediately fled from officers on foot and was apprehended a short time later. He was positively identified as the suspect responsible for the burglary based on obtained surveillance footage. The male was subsequently arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
Last night was another excellent example of great teamwork between our officers and the community. Remember… get involved! See something, say something South City!
