Fish Market – Another Local Favorite Set to Close September 20th

South San Francisco, CA  July 12, 2023

Say it isn’t so! Another one of our long-time favorite eateries will be closing, the Fish Market in San Mateo will shutter its doors on September 20th. The Palo Alto location will also be closing in September which is the end of a long run spanning nearly 50 years.

Both locations are leased and the properties are ripe for redevelopment, so out with the old and in with the new…… right?

The last standing Fish Markets to remain open will be in SoCal.

For those who want to make one last visit, here is their contact info:

From the Fish Market’s IG:

The difficult decision to cease operations is due in part to changing market conditions, and other factors influencing our ability to continue to provide the high-quality seafood dining experience we built our legacy on.

Palo Alto will close on September 13th and San Mateo on September 20th. Promotions will begin in August and in September we will feature a special commemorative menu as a farewell gesture to our loyal guests.
