Commercial Sex Operations Lead to Arrest by South San Francisco Police

South San Francisco, CA  October 25, 2023 SSFPD FB

Earlier this month, our Criminal Interdiction Unit Detectives received information regarding a possible Commercial Sex Operation actively operating within an apartment on the 400 block of Cypress Avenue. An investigation was initiated with the objective to intervene and investigate potential human trafficking activity. Through their investigation and surveillance, they were able to confirm activity consistent with an active brothel.
On October 19, 2023, members from our Criminal Interdiction Unit, Criminal Investigation Bureau, and Community Outreach Team executed a search warrant. During the investigation two potential victims/workers were located, two sex-buyers were debriefed, and evidence of an active operation was seized including a significant amount of money. A 59 year old female from Monterrey Park was determined to be managing the operation and placed under arrest for Pimping and Pandering related offenses.
The San Mateo County’s Human Trafficking Program Coordinator was contacted, and services were provided to the workers after extensive debrief.
If you or someone you know is the victim of human trafficking you can receive help by calling the South San Francisco Police Department or the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-887-373-7888. Calls are confidential, toll-free and 24/7.
