UPDATED Nov 3: SSFPD Media Release: Attempted Strong Arm Robbery

On October 11, 2015, at approximately 6:40 A.M., an attempted strong armed robbery occurred in the area of Chestnut Avenue and Treeside Court. The suspect approached the victim and demanded the victim’s money. When the victim told the suspect he did not have any money, the suspect punched the victim in the face. The suspect then fled the area in a red sedan with tinted windows. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties, approximately 5’6″, 180 pounds, bald, with a mustache and beard. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.

UPDATE: On November 3, 2015 the South San Francisco issued the following update:

On October 11, 2015 at approximately 6:40 A.M., an adult South San Francisco resident reported being the victim of an attempted strong arm robbery in the area of Chestnut Avenue and Treeside Court. The alleged victim said the suspect approached him and demanded money. The subject reported that after he told the suspect he did not have any money, the suspect punched him in the face. The South San Francisco Police Department conducted a diligent investigation and concluded that there was no merit to the robbery. The investigation will be sent to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office requesting that the subject be charged with filing a false police report.
