South San Francisco, Ca December 7, 2015
The Buri Buri neighborhood continues to see burglaries even after the Police held a community meeting November 19th. At that time there had been 14 residential break-ins since October 21st; 12 were burglaries and 2 were robberies when the suspects came across residents in homes they most probably thought were empty.
The SSFPD have confirmed additional break-ins including an attempted burglary on Friday November 20th and a confirmed burglary on Sunday November 22nd. Both were in the Buri Buri area. Additionally police have confirmed with us today that another two residential burglaries have taken place; November 29th a residential burglary took place on the lower portion of King Drive and again on December 5th on the top part of San Felipe.
As police are working this active investigation no other information has been released at this time and the Department expresses appreciation for the public’s patience as they work to resolve this recent increase in burglaries specifically hitting the Buri Buri neighborhood. They remind neighbors once again to report any suspicious activity to the Police Department, if in real time please call 911. I forgot to add there was another robbery near Alta Loma Jr. Hi
today.
Thank you for this information.
When people were getting killed on the East Side of South San Francisco there was no City-wide campaign for things to stop. When a neighborhood not known for crime gets hit the whole City gets behind it. Nobody cares about the poor.
Now now no need to play no race card here. People getting shot on the east side shouldn’t be out hanging out in the corner in the middle of r the night. Gangbangers usually are asking for it. Just saying!!!!
Woah look at Negative Nancy…. let’s just not do anything then since we didn’t for the East Side. yes that will solve all our problems! Realist since 2001 there have been 16 homicides in SSF. Since October there have been 14 break ins in SSF… I think SSFPD is addressing the real issue here
I’m very poor in Buri Buri.
I attended the March on Linden at the time. It was an awful occurrence.
It’s another tough hard to solve problem. Both are major problems
that all SSF should be concerned about.

Actually, I recall there was a community effort to address the violence you reference. It was top news in town. Living on the East side doesn’t make you poor. If you’re living in SSF or any place on the Peninsula, you’re not poor. If you’re concerned about crime and violence in your Eastside neighborhood, take a stand and get involved in addressing it as the Buri Buri neighborhood has. There’s more to it than simply expecting the police to fix the problem people around you. How about reporting the gang-bangers dressed in red or blue hanging around. Or the carload that’s cruising around and doesn’t belong. Or the drunk passed out in the alley. Or the debris piling up on a lot or street corner. The City spent mega $$ on the Eastside of town, so crying favoritism is without merit.
