CalWater Issues South San Francisco Precautionary Do-Not-Drink Notice

South San Francisco, CA   June 2, 2017  Submitted by California Water Service Company

We have just discovered a breach at a storage tank that serves the Sunshine Gardens area of South San Francisco. Initial water quality testing indicates that water quality was not compromised.  However, in an abundance of caution, we are asking that you not to use the water for drinking or cooking until we have more information.

This notice affects ONLY the area shown on this map:

We are investigating the incident with the state Division of Drinking Water (DDW) and local law enforcement and conducting additional water quality tests.  We will provide results as we receive them over the next few days and post updates on this page.

We will update this notice when we have confirmed that the water meets water quality standards. Until then, please use bottled water for drinking and cooking. You may save your receipts during this time for reimbursement by Cal Water.  We also have bottled water available for pick up at 80 Chestnut Avenue in South San Francisco.

We apologize for this inconvenience; protecting your health and safety is our highest priority. For more information, call Cal Water’s Customer Center at 650-558-7800 or watch this page for updates.
