Original Release:
On 11-08-2014 at about 2:20 p.m., an adult male approached a two year old girl in an aisle of the Costco warehouse located at 1600 El Camino Real Highway in South San Francisco. The man approached the child from behind, looked at her, patted her head, and then stated, “Come over here” while making a circular motion with his right hand. The child’s mother was within 15 feet of the child when this occurred and when the suspect noticed her, he immediately walked away from the child. The man later exited the store without purchasing anything.
The suspect is described as possibly being an Asian male in his 40’s with a mustache, between 5’ 5” and 5’ 7” tall with a medium build, wearing a dark grey or blue jacket with lighter grey panel’s and a black inner lining (the jacket might have been reversible), lighter colored pants (possible khaki), and black shoes. His hair was described as being dark, collar length and unkempt hair thinning on top. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival and has not been identified.

NOTE: Everything South City reported this incident yesterday as it came to us from a neighbor prior to SSFPD putting out this above press release
In my experience with Costco, you need a membership card to get in. Did they not check his card?
Not if you’re going to the pharmacy only.

Hi Cynthia,
San Mateo PD have put out an alert for a suspect(s) with the following descriptions based on the 3 attempts he made this past week to lure female students from San Mateo High School.Due to the similarities in suspect description in the SM incidents SMPD believe it may be the same person. We do not know if there is a connection to the SSF incident at Costco.
From San Mateo Police:
November 12th: The male was reported to be a light-skinned, adult Asian male, 35-40 years old, bald with some hair on the sides, driving in a silver 4 door hatchback.
November 13th: The male in this instance was reported to be a Filipino male, in his 40’s, bald, and driving a white or light colored 4 door sedan, possibly a Toyota or a Honda.
November 13th 6:15pm: The male in this incident is described as a Filipino or Asian adult male, about 30 years old, medium build, with short maybe even spiked hair on top and unshaven. In this third incident the vehicle is described as a dark blue or black foreign sedan.
Each of these three incidents is being investigated to the full extent and there are enough similarities in the three descriptions to believe it may be the same suspect.
