On 09115/14 at about 1105 AM, unknown suspects attempted to burglarize a residence on the 200 block of Longford Drive, South San Francisco by smashing the rear sliding glass door. Three of the suspects were scared off by the homeowner who heard them shatter the door. The suspects entered a newer model, gray, Honda CRY, which was occupied by two associated subjects and fled the area. During the same time frame, there was a second residence burglarized on the 200 block of Southcliff Avenue. The suspects entered that residence via shattering the rear sliding glass door.
The suspects were described as five African-American male adults, 17-25 years old, 5’6″ – 5’9″ in height, thin build, all wearing black hooded sweaters/jackets and dark jeans.
Burglary suspects commonly check for houses with no vehicles around them, ring the doorbell to ensure no one is home and enter unlocked or unsecured side gates to break into the rear of the house. In order to deter this type of crime it is encouraged that side gates be secured with locks or alarms and surveillance cameras are installed in the inside and outside of the residence.
Anyone with information can contact the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900 or via the anonymous tip line (650) 952-2244.
