THROW BACK THURSDAY; we pull from our files this wonderful story, a Christmas miracle from last year:
‘Best Christmas present ever was delivered to our neighbors on the 700 block of Circle Court around 10:45am on Christmas Day when our SSFPD Officer Ricky Amador responded to the call of an infant unresponsive. Officer Amador immediately took action, clearing the baby’s airway and allowing her to breathe again. The baby was taken to the hospital for follow up care and is reported to be doing well.
On behalf of our community, ESC would like to thank Officer RICKY AMADOR for his quick thinking and actions and giving this family the best gift anyone could ever hope for.
Amador’s father is a Police Officer as well as a South City native. Way to go Officer Amador, Thank you!!’

The official media release: On December 25, 2012 at approximately 10:39am SSFPD Dispatchers received a 911 call from resident on the 700 block of Circle Court regarding an infant not breathing. In addition to the Fire Dept responding Police Dispatchers notified all available Police Officers of the 911 call. SSF Police Officer Amador immediately drove to the residence and was the first to arrive. Officer Amador saw that the infant was still unable to breathe, so he took immediate action and was able to clear the infant’s airway and allow her to breathe again. The infant was taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment and is reportedly doing well.
