Residential water consumption throughout the northern portion of San Mateo County remains among the lowest in the Bay Area, according to new statistics provided by the State Water Board, which tracks water use throughout California.
Here are the latest figures for North County communities, based on June 2015 water use on a per person per day basis: San Bruno 42 gallons per person per day, South San Francisco 43, Daly City 50, Westborough 54, Burlingame 62, Millbrae 64.
State Water Board officials have stated that using per capita daily water use numbers as a basis for comparison is the best way to measure water consumption between California communities, especially as the current drought persists.
