The California Public Utilities Commission will hold several public forums throughout California for customers to communicate directly with the CPUC regarding California Water Service Company’s rate increase request.
For San Mateo County and Los Altos customers, there will a hearing at the San Carlos Public Library, Community Room, 610 Elm St., San Carlos, on March 5, 2019 at 6 p.m.
For Bay Area customers (Bayshore, Bear Gulch, and Los Altos districts), CalWater is seeking a rate increase of $9.3 million (or 10.8 percent) in 2020; an additional increase on January 1, 2021 of $3.2 million (or 3.4 percent); and an additional increase on January 1, 2022 of an additional $3.2 (or 3.2 percent).
The CPUC welcomes attendance and comment on CalWater’s rate increase request at these public forums (called Public Participation Hearings), as public comments will help the CPUC reach an informed decision.
While a quorum of Commissioners and/or their staff may attend, no official action will be taken on this matter at the public forums.
