South San Francisco, CA January 14, 2021 Press Release
Currently, San Mateo County is continuing to focus our limited supply of vaccine for members of Phase 1A (healthcare workers who are currently providing in person patient care/services; and residents of long-term care facilities) who live or work in San Mateo County.
For more guidance on Phase 1a eligibility, go to https://bit.ly/3sp8van. While state officials recently gave the OK for counties to begin entering Phase 1B for adults 65 years and older, in San Mateo County, we have not yet moved to that phase. We are continuing to prioritize reaching as many members of Phase 1A as possible, as we wait for official guidance from the California Department of Public Health.
Vaccine is actively coming to San Mateo County and being routed to healthcare organizations, where the majority of people will be able to receive their vaccine. Contact your healthcare provider for the most accurate and up to date information about when and how you can expect to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Pharmacies will also carry the vaccine once it is more widely available. The California vaccine distribution website link https://covid19.ca.gov/vaccines/ has the most up-to-date information about who is in which phase of the roll out.
We also recommend that you periodically check the San Mateo County’s COVID-19 website at https://www.smchealth.org/covid-19-vaccination which has the most up to date information on the vaccines.
