South San Francisco, CA November 23, 2021 Press Release
It has been my honor to represent the Peninsula in the Assembly for nearly a decade, and as a city councilmember, mayor, and small business owner before that.
As you know, our Congresswoman, the incomparable Jackie Speier, has announced her retirement after serving our community selflessly for over 40 years.
That’s why I am very excited and humbled today to let you know I am running for the United States House of Representatives, with the endorsements of over 30 local leaders from across the 14th District. Can I count on your support as well?
Congresswoman Jackie Speier is a mentor, friend, and someone I admire immensely. It was Jackie who gave me my first legislative job here in San Mateo County. And I learned from watching her, how to make government work for people.
Over the past 14 years I’ve done just that – working hard to deliver real life results for Peninsula families. I passed bills that prioritize local affordable housing, authored California’s first law for all vote-by-mail elections that boosted voter participation, as well as the DISCLOSE Act to put a stop to ‘dark money’ in our elections, and helped to secure the largest investment in our state’s history for wetlands restoration and climate resiliency.
In Congress, I will continue to defend our democracy, make sure billionaires pay their fair share in taxes, and create an economy that works for all of us. I’ll take on our sky-high cost of housing, and ensure the rest of America follows California’s lead to tackle climate change and leave a cleaner planet for the next generation.
You have my word that I’ll keep working every day to deliver results for San Mateo and San Francisco families in Washington. But I need your help to get there. I’m asking you today to become one of the founding donors of my campaign.
Now, let’s honor Jackie’s legacy, and get Washington, D.C. marching towards a brighter future for all.
With gratitude,
– Kevin

What a monumental surprise. Not! Don’t we ever tire of dynastic politics? Kev is a second generation politician who followed in his late Father’s footsteps. As usual, the electorate is historically lazy and “votes for the name that you know.” This is not to say he shouldn’t get your vote but research his and the other candidates’ records in office and then make your decision. I have only one question, is he another one of the gang of politicians who have decided to go against the majority of California residents and are determined to bury every Bay Area community in housing we can’t possibly support? If you like the answer, give him your vote, provided he promises to not overthrow the government. Kinda’ limits your vote to anybody with a “D” next to their name. My how low the “bar” has fallen.
